Could you be training your dog to ignore you?

*Did you know that repeating a command more than once actually prompts your dog to ignore you? This is just one of many dog training mistakes that often sabotage your dog’s behavior. For more information: http://www.puppy-potty-training.com/dog-training-mistakes.html

*You can easily help homeless pets There are several ways named here. Even purchasing their super cute t-shirt can help a homeless pet, or spreading the word to spay or neuter and prevent animal overpopulation and needless suffering. “Someone must speak for the animals, they have no voice of their own.” http://www.kcpets.org

*If you’re looking for a particular breed of dog don’t forget about breed rescue organizations. For example, there’s a Doberman rescue, a Boxer rescue ..all kinds of breeds have a rescue group just for that breed.

The Winner

The Great American Mutt 2004 Contest

  • View the winner of the "Great American Mutt 2004 Contest" and all the runners up. You will see the benefits of adopting or rescuing a shelter dog and just because a pet doesn't appear to be physically flawless doesn't mean he/she isn't the perfect companion.

  • Here's a tip on how you can help your local humane society and it won't even cost you a cent. Do you have old but clean newspapers? Many times they have need of these for the puppies in foster care and at the adoption events. So if you're done with the paper it's a great way to recycle and help animals in need.

  • Prevent pet overpopulation and suffering: always spay or neuter your pet and never take them outdoors without a leash, fence or being closely supervised!

Puppy Fun in 2005

Puppy-potty-training.com has lots of new and fun things for the year 2005.
Here are some of the things that will be added

1.In addition to "Puppy Potty Training" and "25 Secrets to Raising the Perfect Puppy", we will be publishing another ebook which will be for dog potty training.

2.Personalized puppy and dog items ,(whether it's your pet's picture or with personalized text) will be available for purchase and for winning.

3.Puppy Paw Pads, our free newsletter, has recently been featuring "How to teach tricks to your puppy or dog", but will now be adding some contests and drawings when you send in your puppy's picture or make a donation to a rescue organization.

Note: If you send in your puppy's picture, please insert it directly into the email. It has become a new and necessary policy to NEVER open attachments.

(Which reminds me, thank you to all the folks who sent pictures in last month. The new plan is to post one or two in the Puppy Paw Pads newsletter at a time. )
